Fermented pickles to help gut health

Vegetable pickles have been traditionally made in many parts of the world including Europe, the Middle East and most of Asia. Not only are they a good way of preserving the vegetables that ripen at one time of the year to eat at other times, but also the fermentation process creates many beneficial micro-organisms for our gut health.

On this day you will be learning to make your own pickles to take away with you, including brine pickles, tamari and miso pickled vegetables, kim chi and umeboshi pickles.

The day will include a simple lunch, including trying a range or pre-made pickles for you to taste.
